The more famous, the better.Linus has noticed that all the famous friends entered have been famous for humans, not octopodes. When Linus thinks of the most famous of his friends, he thinks of His Royal Majesty, Inky VIII, Defender of All Octopodes, Supremely Covert Ruler of the Earth, and Lord of Lower Darkwallow Pond. Here is Linus and His Majesty having a nice lunch together. His Majesty is fond of sushi. Artifact Bonus: 1

![]() (1 comment) | Master of EightDemonstrate your mastery of Eightness. It is a little known fact that Linus runs the command center for Building 8 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the world's most prestigious technical university. Building 8 is of course where they devote themselves to the study of the number eight. It is only through Linus's mastery of the Building 8 Command Center, keeping everything running smoothly, that the Greatness of Eightness can continue to be researched and studied.

![]() (0 comments) | PedigreeDocument your octopus' suitability to be king.Linus demonstrates how his intended throne room would be arranged. He sits atop a bed of flowers which represent the elevation of octopus kind over the world of dry land. His tiara of oyster pearls show how he keeps the needs of the aquatic close to mind. His security sock mantle goes nicely with the stems of the flowers, showing his excellent taste and eye for composition. Linus would also like to point out that flowers make a fragrant and soft throne which is also biodegradable. Linus is ecologically conscious.

![]() (0 comments) | Hunting ProwessDemonstrate your octopus' hunting ability.Even a gentle octopus like Linus has his weakness, and his seems to be freshly baked cardamom buns. See how he steals a few and makes his getaway mere seconds after the baked goods come out of the oven! His security sock also doubles as a loot bag, allowing him to greatly increase his carrying capacity for delicious plunder.

![]() (0 comments) | AddressTake a picture of your octopus with the largest house/building street number available. In his search for the largest of addresses, Linus realized NOTHING was larger than infinity, which drew him to MIT's Infinite Corridor. Sadly, there aren't official signs nearby documenting the name of the corridor, though all passers by knew the location by name. Luckily, a warning sign did make mention of the infinite nature of the corridor. Linus was polite and regretfully refrained from frog hopping in the Infinite Corridor.

![]() (0 comments) | AquaticDemonstrate that your octopus is at home in an aquatic environment.A true octopus is at home in all kinds of aquatic environments! Sadly, cameras are not, so we do not have photo documentation of his daring trek to the frozen north to do battle with seals and polar bears and swim in the icy seas. At least there was a spare camera at the base camp. Here we see him after his dive, warming up on a toasty stove.

![]() (0 comments) | CooperationMultiple octopodes cooperate together to accomplish something no single octopus could do alone!Clone IV and his friends went duck hunting the other day. They cooperated to herd the ducks over a cliff. The weapon of choice was the mighty fork (also, incidentally, good for eating the ducks after the hunt). Later on, they cooperated to carry a giant penguin.

![]() (1 comment) | CamouflageOctopodes are masters of color-changing and camouflage to perfectly blend in with their backgrounds. Or maybe they just choose their backgrounds very carefully.Linus's love of socks has always been clear from the mismatched sock he wears on each tentacle and the security sock he always keeps with him. Where else to blend in than in a drawer filled entirely with mismatched socks? Examine the photo carefully; no two socks are alike!

![]() (0 comments) | Video GameOctopus with the highest score in a video game.If Linus were a more suspicious octopus, he might think that other octopodes were just borrowing their master's already finished video games and pretending they had played it themselves. Lucky, Linus doesn't have to worry about that, since he loves Karaoke Revolution so much that he has his own avatar. He scored 50,000 point on the most appropriate song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World."

![]() (0 comments) | Head SittingStatistically, it appears that sitting on the heads of people and other octopodes is part of the Octopus Nature. Keep your octopus on your head for the greatest length of time, without the aid of string, hats, fancy hair tricks, or other fasteners.Begin: 7:18am. Some discussion is had about where the security sock should be placed, since Linus does not wish to be accused of using it for stability purposes, yet is nervous to sit upon such a perch without it. Since his human is just out of bed—note the authentically unkempt hair—glasses are present, which prove to be an excellent place to drape security socks. ~7:45am. Linus's human's housemate wanders into the room. He stares at them both, baffled. End: 8:12am. Linus, who turns out to have been initially placed a bit to the side, succumbs to gravity and slips off. Total Elapsed TIme: 54 minutes

Your octopus may submit a Spirited Defense of another's entry which it thinks should have been higher, and this contest will give it another chance at points.Tudo Azul would like to put in a good word for Linus and Akira's Twins entry. Of the entries as of this writing (leaving aside Tudo Azul's own entry, since one should not argue the merit of one's own entry), only Linus and Akira's shows any indication of where the pictures were taken: the picnics, remotes, and even horses could be absolutely anywhere, for all one can judge from the photos. Linus and Akira also show the most specific objects in their photos: not merely common objects or animals, but Green Buildings of Earth Science. Finally, Linus and Akira's entry deserves recognition for both research effort and wit.
